For baptized students who have successfully completed their first year of preparation and are in 2nd or 3rd grade in school.
Program Overview - Preparation year for reconciliation as appropriate
Second Year Formation focuses on how Jesus shares in God's life, following Jesus and his laws, being sorry, being forgiven, conscience, etc. They are pre pared to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and are examined for their readiness. They add the Act of Contrition to their list of learned prayers.

Reconciliation Retreat: This retreat accompanies our Young Disciples in their 2nd year of formation and their Parents/Guardians along their journey towards the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Each child will be inited to encounter the love gifted freely by God and explore living in right relationship with God, self and others. This is facilitated through storytelling, crafts and contemplation-including examination of Conscience. Retreats are scheduled on moring or evening in November approximately three hours in length.
Program Requirements
To enroll parents must provide a copy of the child’s birth and baptism certificate.
This is to ensure your child is enrolled in the proper classes.
Upon celebrating your child's sacrament, the certificates must be printed and officially recorded as to how your child's name is printed on his or her Baptismal Certificate.
Children consistently attentend a minimum number sessions throughout the catechetical year.
All students are required to attend a Circle of Grace® course conducted during regular class time.
Parents sign and agree to a Code of Conduct.
Children must also attend a Reconciliation Retreat with their parents.
Birth and baptism certificates and/or transfer letters may be required if transferring from another parish.

Required Parent Meetings
All parents should be attending Mass on a weekly basis. Parents are asked to attend two adult faith sessions/meetings each year of enrollment.
Reconciliation Ceremony dates will be announced at the retreat. Non attendance at the required meetings may cause receipt of the sacrament to be postponed.

...has a three year process for receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist for children this age:
First Year—basic faith formation. Learning prayers: Sign of the Cross, Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be.
Third Year—focus is on God’s love and the Sacrament of Eucharist (first communion). Child learns the Nicene Creed; Child/parent attend a Eucharist Retreat. Child receives Sacrament of Eucharist
