We will be hosting a 13-Week Program, Journey of Hope, to support our brothers and sisters through the emotional pain of divorce and separation. Key challenges and unique family dynamics as a result of this unexpected journey will be addressed as well as a safe environment to share concerns and reconnect with understanding and a new hope. Open yourself up to experience healing and allow Jesus to restore your faith and renew your journey.
The Angel Choir and Lord's Children Choir will begin rehearsals on September 11, 2017 and the Jubilation Choir will begin on September 18, 2017. Please refer to the calendar for dates and times.
The DDF Goal for 2017 is $ 237,300. All monies over our goal will be used towards the Ministry Center Fund. We have over 6,000 families. Each one of us is called to be a good steward of the gifts we receive. We are asking ALL parishioners to make a $15 a month pledge. We have 761 families that have pledge $185,506. We need $51,794 to meet our $185, 506 pledge, and $95,057 to pay our goal. If 200 new families donate $15 each for the next 4 months, we would have an additional $120,000 and would make our goal. Please join us in giving as generously as you can. May God bless each one of you as we live HIS service.
“Who do you say that I am?” That question, asked by Jesus to Simon Peter in today’s Gospel, sets the stage for a key foundation of the Catholic Church. Once Simon states that Jesus is the Messiah, then Jesus blesses him, changes his name to Peter (which means rock), and says that he will build his church upon that rock.
Now, we are challenged to claim the identity of Jesus for ourselves and say with faith and conviction: “We are the living Christ today!” So, starting from the table of the Eucharist, “be the rock of faith that builds the Church” and “be Christ-like now and forever”.
Since many of us have had the experience of praying when it seems as if our prayers are battering against a brick wall, this Gospel story of the persistent woman serves to increase our faith in the love and mercy of the Lord for each one of us.
Have you ever been in a storm at sea? If you have, you know how terrifying it can be. Now imagine being in a storm in a small wooden boat ... and not knowing how to swim! This is the scene we have in today’s Gospel.
Jesus’ words are invitation of trust. Jesus’ outstretched hands are life-saving. How about us? What kind of words do we tell people? What kind of hands do we stretch out to them?

Together all of these Scripture passages point toward the divinity of Jesus Christ, one of the most important points of our faith as Christians. This key doctrine is also a great mystery: How can Jesus be fully man? What does that mean? How well do we understand this claim? Can we explain it and defend it?
In our gospel today, this change is clear to happen. Peter said to Jesus: “Rabbi, it is good to be here. Let us make three tents: one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
