Our
Parish Mission Statement reminds us of our spiritual identity, when it says:
“We, the people of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community… [are] visible sign of God’s love.” Being a “visible sign of God’s love” is seeing the Church as a body not just looking out for itself, but going forth and giving of itself: “feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, clothing the naked, welcoming the strangers and visiting those in prison.”
One noble concrete way of becoming
“visible signs of God’s love” in this
“Jubilee of Mercy” is participating in the
Diocesan Development Fund (DDF) Campaign of the Diocese of San Bernardino. The
DDF is a sacrificial giving program of the diocese. The monies are primary source of income for our Bishop Gerald Barnes. They provide him the funding required to undertake the many programs, services and ministries that are needed by more than one million Catholics spread throughout the two counties of San Bernardino and Riverside which comprise our diocese.
I would like to inform you that our
2016 DDF goal given to us by the Diocese is
$237,300.00. I am very confident that we can go beyond our goal this year. This confidence is reinforced by my faith in God and faith in you – the parishioners of St. Paul the Apostle. Your cooperation in this past year was outstanding. When we were short of our goal, and we appealed to you, your generosity was overflowing. And from the bottom of my heart, I say,
“THANK YOU” for your never-ending generosity!
But your collaboration this year is very much needed again. Remember that all monies raised above our goal are returned to the parish. They will be used in completing the constructions being done at our Ministry Center. To see the progress of the site construction, please look at our parish website and scroll down to the item
Ministry Center.
As a parish family, I am requesting you if you can find within your means to make a sacrificial pledge or a one time gift for the
2016 DDF Campaign. Please be assured that your gift, regardless of its size, will play a very important part in our parish’s accomplishing its mission for the good of all. Remember, when you make your pledge, you are significantly living your being a
“visible sign of God’s love!”
Sincerely in the service of the Lord,
Fr. Romeo N. Seleccion, MS
