The Call of Lent: Be Reconciled and Be Reconcilers!

This talk explores the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to us, as reflected in 2 Corinthians 5: 20: "So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
Fr. Joseph Pilotin is a priest from the religious order of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette. He has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology. He finished his MA in Systematic Theology at San Carlos Seminary School of Theology in Manila and his MA in Beoethics at Loyola Mary Mount University in LA. Currently he is the Parochaial Vicar and Youth Ministry Coordinator at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Chino Hills. -
Drawing Near to God through Fasting

Fasting" The Scriptures teach that there is a three-part plan for drawing closer to the Lord: prayer, fasting and works of mercy. In the season of Lent dedicated to drawing closer to the Lord, these spiritual disciplines are more strongly encouraged by the Church. My talk will focus upon fasting as an act of love for God and a weapon against the devil, and it's spiritual relationship to prayer and works of mercy.
Fr. Sebastian Walsh is a Norbertine Canon of the Abbey of St. Michael in the Diocese of Orange, where he is a professor of philosophy for the seminary program. He studied at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas at Rome (the Angelicum) where he received a Masters in Sacred Theology and a Doctorate in Philosophy.

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

Lent is a time of prayer, fasting and penance. How can we honor His suffering and sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins? How can we and our family be healed from the suffering and separation that is the consequence of our sin? How can we heal from our hurt and brokenness by uniting ourselves to the greatest act of love: Jesus' death and resurrection? That promises us love and peace here on earth and everlasting life in Heaven.
Ana Gmeiner, LMSC is a lay religious in the order of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. She has worked in the Diocese of San Bernardino since 1982 as a Youth and Young Adult minister, PMFP Instructor, and Retreat Master (over 500 retreats). She is the Founder and President of Su Misericordia, Inc. and co-founder of the Chevalier Institute of Spirituality. She is active as a Spiritual Director and Speaker. -

Amanda Alexander… holds multiple degrees in theology and religious studies and has taught for over a decade in Catholic schools, universities and diocesan formation programs. She is currently completing her PhD in Theology at Fordham University in New York City and teaches Theology at Notre Dame High School. She is especially interested in issues of justice, spirituality, and science. -
