The theme, “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34, 8) best captures what this year’s parish report wants to convey. The number of people coming for mass and services as well as our ministers and volunteers have been steadily increasing. Young disciples enrolled in our catechetical program increased from 817 to 942 this year. We have received 510 new parish registrations. Old ministries have been revived and new ones have been introduced. Our faith formation and fellowship efforts have been effective, and our fundraisers, very well supported. Our mass offerings and other donations have been growing. Our DDF rebate significantly helped us end the fiscal year in abundance. Many of our major repair projects, both in Church and Ministry Center locations, have been accomplished.
I want to specially focus on how we have accompanied our youth and young adults in their journey and the blessings that have come out of it. Our annual Vacation Bible Camp was attended by 146 participants and volunteers. We brought together middle schoolers for Spark Retreat. We had a successful Search Retreat Weekend for young adults - the first in the Inland Empire. Our 6 confirmation retreats for teens have gone back to full weekend schedule. How I wish you could see how many teens and young adults come together for praise and worship and Bible Studies every week in the youth center. It will give you so much joy and hope.
Finally, this year, we have the huge blessings of a young man joining the seminary for the Diocese of San Bernardino, and a young lady joining the religious order of the Institute of Our Lady of the Annunciation. The sign of a healthy parish is the number of vocations it has, and we definitely are so blessed in this aspect.
None of these would have been possible without the generosity of your time, talents, treasure and prayers. Thank you very much. Ultimately, we know all these to be from God. This is a grace from Him, and we are just so grateful to taste and see that the Lord is indeed good! Please turn to pages 8 & 9 for the whole report.
