Dear Holy People of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church!
The
Thanksgiving’s blessings, the
Advent’s spirit and
Christmas’ joy are sneaking so fast in our life’s celebrations. And as early as now, rest assured that all of you will be remembered in our prayers and masses during those spiritual events of our life!
Servant-leadership’s values are accountability and transparency! Therefore, the Parish’s Financial Summary Report
(July 1, 2016 --- June 30, 2017) is in today’s bulletin. It’s also the Diocese of San Bernardino’s mandate. If you so desire to see the details of the report, please don’t hesitate to come to the office during the week.
The year’s past yielded abundant blessings! Both Fr. Michael and Fr. Joseph’s assignments as Parochial Vicars are renewed for another three years. Deacons Pat and Tony are still graced with spiritual energy in doing sacramental ministries (e.g. Baptisms and Quinceañeras). Through Deacon Paul’s leadership and with the collaboration of the Evangelization Team’s members, the parish’s evangelization program has grown into an engaging ministry.
Inclusive in these blessings are YOU – our lay people! Your volunteerism’s spirit animated the parish’s vibrancy. Visualize this: 1,000 plus volunteers - involved in the parish’s various ministries; a Mass on a Sunday has many as 50 volunteers - from hospitality to music and to Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion; inundated with many second collections, yet your generosity abounds. Beloved parishioners - your commitment, generosity, and love for the parish are very much valued, treasured and appreciated. THANK YOU very much! MUCHAS GRACIAS! MARAMING SALAMAT PO!
Although the parish incurred a deficit of $37,517.23 during the Fiscal Year 2016-2017, the parish’s financial status is still liquid. This is due to the diligent and efficient management of the Parish’s financial resources by Tacie Adams – the Parish’s Business Manager. The proactive members of the Parish’s Finance Council professionally assisted her.
The new Ministry Center, the haven for religious education of our children, encountered facility costs as rooms are fully furnished; offices are supplied with adequate office equipment; and the parking lot and landscaping are improved. On the other hand, the Church’s facilities are aging, hence, maintenance and repairs are necessities: painting the Church exterior; landscaping maintenance; interior lighting has been addressed; changing the Church’s screens are unavoidable. All the above are addressed but resulted into considerable expenditures: $542,958.54 (facility cost) plus $130,871.34 (office cost) – a total cost of $673,829.88.
But overall, while we encountered a deficit during the Fiscal Year 2016-2017, the Parish’s financial status is still healthy; for that, we are grateful. Please continue praying for God’s blessings on St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community that, we become
“visible signs of God’s love!”
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Romeo N. Seleccion, MS Pastor
